I am always on the look out for new and relevant advice for any startups out there. Being a small one man startup myself, I apprecite the tips and am happy to pass them on for my readers .. the few I have left
Anyway, I came across a good post over at the Startup Marketing Blog titled “Top Ten Tips to Get Your Startup Noticed”. They have some great points I wanted to share with you and also comment on what I have found works as well.

You can go check out the post to see more of the details of what they list for each item, I just wanted to list them out for you here. They have some great ideas, ones that are very simple yet often overlooked by many of us, including me.
I will admit, while I write this blog, I have really neglected keeping up with a product blog, and that has not been a very smart move on my part. It is very easy to do, but sometimes time constraintsand other things distract me form this very east step.
From the list above I think another key item is to Go To Events. This is by far the easiest and cheapest way fory you to get some word of mouth out about your product. But dont show up like a machine gun spouting the virtues of your next great thing. Rather show up, mingle, buidl rapport and relationships and then only after that point share news about your offering. You are sure to get a much better reaction.
And lastly, one item not on the list that I have used and I think works well is to sponsor some local events. It usually is not very expensive and it is a great way to get your logo and name of your product or service out there. It is a great way to involve yourself more in the loacl community and that will pay big dividends for you as you move forward.
So how about you all, any other tips for us to help promote your startup and get the word out there ?
