Upcoming Event: Bootstrap Maryland

by jimmy on April 3, 2009

This is one event I am actually looking forward to attending.  I am so happy to announce this event organized by our good friend Jared Goralnick, founder of Awayfind.  Jared has been working hard and announced just recently an event called Bootstrap Maryland.  The event has a great looking schedule of panels for the upcoming business entrepreneur and an even better set of speakers to offer insights and advice.

Bootstrap Maryland is a not-for-profit group that brings together young entrepreneurs and the necessary tools for running a lean and successful technology business. We want to see Maryland, DC, and Virginia flourish with innovation.

Bootstrap Maryland was created and is organized by Jared Goralnick.   You can read more about Jared on his blog Technotheory.com, at the companies he’s founded, AwayFind and SET Consulting, or on Twitter at @technotheory.

University of MarylandThe University of Maryland has been extremely helpful with putting our first event on. The Dingman Center and the Hinman CEO program are two examples of entrepreneurial education, and we hope that the Bootstrap Maryland Conference will be a complementary and frequent addition. To truly grow the entrepreneurial community in this region, we need the business and university community to work together.

If the first conference is a success, we hope to have smaller and more regularly occurring events.

Jared and I have become good friends in our quest to try to elevate the community in the local DC/MD/VA area and I was very happy to see this announcement and as I said, am looking forward to attending and meeting more of the local community.
